Close to or below freezing point trips
Late boxing day paddle (one day late)
After a varm and windy Christmas, it finally snowed yesterday. But this morning was beautiful, so we deecided to get rid of some of that food.
2014 Season premiere
This winter is not as the last ones, at least not yet. A couple of degrees above the freezing point and humid. Peter got me off the sofa this foggy morning.
Ice braking
Another fine Sunday, but the night was cold and there is some new ice.
First day of Spring
After just a few days with plus degrees Celsius (a terribly long Winter), we found that the ice is giving in.
Winter’s gone
After goofing around for an hour and a half last week, not finding the middle part of the paddle – here we go again. (The thing was, surprisingly, already fitted to the paddle, but so was the storm one at the other paddle half – so the two halfs didn’t fit. Sigh…).
Björkvik, Ingarö in late January
The lakes are frozen now, so we had to go out to the sea.
Hässelby strandbad
I bought the dry suit in 2006 or -07, this is the first time since then that the lake is not frozen in January.
Still below the freezing point
Got to take every chance before the lake freezes over. Today at or just below the freezing point again.
Bällsta river
A frosty morning…
Season premiere, on the rocks
The ice has finally withdrawn after the longest winter in many years.
Riddarfjärden in minus 7 C
There’s a cold front coming in with expected -15 centigrade temperatures. As the lake is not frozen yet we wanted to enjoy it before the skating season. Temperature was -7, but it’s not that bad as the water is at zero.
