Late Summer Saturday

Summer’s not over yet, around 20C today.

Went west and passed the Hässelby power plant.

Stockholm morning

Brought Mia and went with Horisontkajak on their “City morning” trip. Without breakfast, met up with the group at 6:30.

20+C

With 28 C in the air and 24 in the water, a good 20C improvement to Greenland. Took an early Sunday tour in the vicinity and saw seven ospreys.

Uummannaq, Greenland

Anders, Peter and I, together with the Trackers / Horisontkajak team went paddling on the west coast of Greenland (Uummannaq) July 13-23. Well, actually I didn’t paddle myself as I had a bad spell of asthma. So Anders tooks my GPS and Peter my Spot. Seems there was some miscommunication on the Spot, so it did not track. Sorry everyone!

Paddled out to Lambarudd with Anders. A last preparation for Greenland!?

BRIS – kayak technique

I attended the BRIS class arranged by Horisontkajak this weekend. A brilliant walk through and practice of kayak techniques and safety. Carin and Bengt guided us and we that attended were myself, Annica, Torkel, Andy, Jens, Birgitta, Laurant, Anna, Tone, Maria, Gunilla, Johanna and Jerker. A jolly bunch that I didn’t know in beforehand.

National day

Peter wanted an early paddle, so rise and shine.

Kärsön in light rain

Thought I’d have a nice evening trip, but met kayak fellows at the “hotel” and was delayed. But had a swift shorter trip around Kärsön before returning.

Ice braking

Another fine Sunday, but the night was cold and there is some new ice.

First day of Spring

After just a few days with plus degrees Celsius (a terribly long Winter), we found that the ice is giving in.
